Ab Initio Developer
Position Responsibilities
This position is for a senior Ab Initio developer. This person will be responsible for:
- New development work, including simple to complex Ab Initio processes that integrate and transform additional internal data into formats for downstream systems
- Supporting the current Ab Initio SUN and AIX UNIX-based sourcing processes in the production environment. This includes monitoring production jobs, resolving ETL issues, coordinating the implementation of production changes (develop, upgrade, test, implement and document software changes) and providing recommendations regarding the optimization of the current processes.
- Consulting with data teams to complete data investigation requests in preparation for creating technical specs, to understand requirements, to create high level and detailed Ab Initio design documents, to develop new processes (including unit testing, and implementation coordination), and to develop workable solutions to business specifications
- Working with management in defining Ab Initio best practices and providing recommendations to management regarding improvement within the current infrastructure
- Mentoring junior Ab Initio developers
Professional Qualifications
� Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Advanced degree preferred.
� Six or more years of experience developing software in an enterprise environment
� Minimum of 3 years of Ab Initio experience with GDEand Meta Data Repository
� 2-3 years of successfully demonstrated work experience using Oracle 9.X, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, and SQL*Loader
� Expertise in Unix and K-Shell, C-shell or shell scripting
� Excellent communication skills
� General finance knowledge
